In P2's NM opener, they faced off against their big brothers from the Pretenders.
In what looked to be a pitcher's duel, it turned into a nail-biter.
After the first inning, OK was still holding on to his no-hitter while P2 found themselves one run behind.

2009 Norges Mesterskap at Rommen Field, Oslo
August 30, 2009:
The Oslo Pretenders Division II team entered the NM fray with a Sunday matchup vs. the young upstart Kristiansand Suns. Kazuhiko Yamada started on the hill for P2 and threw plenty of strikes but fell behind 4 runs to none. Rune Hofsløkken relieved Kaz in the 4th but K’sand chipped away with more hits, including a two-run bomb by Kristiansand’s starting pitcher and head coach Andy Johnson. The P2 squad played generally solid defense but was overmatched initially by Johnson’s sizzling fastball. Gradually the P2 hitters tuned in to its velocity and scored a total of 5 runs – all off two home runs.

In a well played, close game, P2 beat Øhil 5-3. The team was able to pull off the victory due to two main things: Kaz’ excellent pitching and patience at the plate.
Kaz pitched a complete game, striking out 13(!!!!) walking only 2(!!!!!), mixing speed and movement which kept the Øhil batters guessing (wrong) throughout the game. Only one of his runs were earned.
